The annual novice Wind it Up tournament was held this past weekend. Both VELA teams (Red and Blue) made it through the round robin stage and into the semi finals. The Red team advanced to the Gold medal game against JDF 1 and the Blue team played for Bronze against Port Alberni. Both teams worked hard, but came up a bit short in their medal games. Thanks to all the teams that participated and see you next year!

Bantam C take Gold at the Tim White Memorial tournament in Nanaimo

Great showing by the Peewee C team to take gold at the Annual Captain Cook tournament at Juan De Fuca. The gold medal game was a close 5-4 finish against Saanich.

The Peewee A2 went 2-1-0 in round robin play at the Wayne Goss memorial tournament in White Rock this weekend. Suffering their only loss in the semi-finals, and then moving on to capture the bronze Medal. A great showing for this very young team!

VELA’s Bantam B team hit New Westminster’s Hyack Tournament over the May long weekend.

After an outstanding four games through the round robin, they came up short in the semi finals against Nanaimo in a very close and tough battle, advancing them to the Bronze game with Semiahmoo. The final game of this six game journey finished with VELA prevailing 12:3 and securing the bronze medals.

An awesome weekend and an awesome tournament!
